Why Compassionery?
Desserts made without animal products have never had a name of their own. We call them vegan cake, plant-based cookies, dairy-free ice cream — long labels that explain what they aren’t, instead of what they are.
Those terms categorize compassionate desserts as the “other” option, like gluten-free or nut-free foods. They sound like a substitute, a special request, or an exception, even when they are simply desserts anyone can enjoy.
A compassionery™ changes that. It gives these sweets their own identity. Not a restriction, not an allergy category, and not a second choice. A compassionery is a dessert made with kindness for animals, care for people, and respect for the planet. Nothing “other” about it.
With a name of its own, compassionate dessert becomes normal, celebrated, and easy to share.
Use the word. Bake one. Share one.
”Because the sweetest confections are made with compassion.”
